Pawel Szulencki Search Engine Optimization/Marketing blog.
Welcome back! Thanks for sticking by.
Google sites is a free service that lets you easily create wiki-like websites fast and at no cost. Unfortunately this service is not only used to create valuable websites. There is growing number of scam sites hosted on Google selling drugs, even illegal ones.
Some people seeing sites.google.com sub domain in the scam sites URL may relate that site with Google, and not knowing anything purchase some products from such websites.
I guess those were not the Google intentions to sell such products through its website.

Not sure what keyword terms you used to query those results but those google wiki sites don’t show up. When it first came out, I thought it was a great idea but I was wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those google subdomains come out on any search terms. I could be wrong.

@The Koi Man: Type “viagra site:sites.google.com” into Google search engine to check how many websites hosted on sites.google.com sell viagra online. Some people have been viewing some of those websites in normal search results ranking high in the results for some keywords. I can not tell you exactly for which keywords they ranked well, but the problem is that those sites exist anyway.

Thanks for the info. I really think it’s a waste of bandwidth. The html editor for google sites sucks badly. I tried it once and never looked back.
