Google Labs created a dedicated site for Google speech recognition in YouTube videos that converts video speech into text. That enables users to search through videos based on words spoken in the video and not video description.
Google Audio Indexing website lets you search though already converted video files and share them with your friends.

Google audio indexing project is aimed at US elections and coverage of what politics have to say about certain topics. Probably in the future it will be resized and will cover all indexable videos. Just imagine how cool would that be to search for videos based on what they actually represent and not what they are described to represent.
