Google has published some informations about their ranking algorithm to help users understand “how they do it”, how Google search engine works.

The first blog post is called Introduction to Google Search Quality where Udi Manber, VP Engineering, Search Quality at Google explains why Google is not revealing all informations about search algorithms (quite obvious), explains complexity of different language versions of Google search engine and speaks out about introducing new features on daily basis by the Google team.

Second post, Introduction to Google Ranking by Amit Singhal a Google Fellow in charge of the ranking team at Google gives deep understanding of the philosophies behind Google ranking:

1) Best locally relevant results served globally.
2) Keep it simple.
3) No manual intervention.

Third post called Technologies behind Google ranking by Amit Singhal gives the most interesting informations about Google from users point of view.

The article tries to answer how does Google “understand” what you are searching for and how it shows you the results you “want to see” in just milliseconds. It’s an in-depth analysis of how Google understand user queries and users intentions and thinking ways as well as shows many real live examples of complexities of search results.
