I am talking a lot about different SEO techniques on this SEO/SEM blog, but do you know what SEO means? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and its main purpose is to drive traffic to websites through organic listings on search engine result pages. The opposite of organic or natural listings are paid listing, for which advertisers pay money in order to get certain position in result pages.

Search engines use mathematical algorithms to rank websites according to the keywords used on those pages. In fact every word is a keyword. Therefore we might say that whole website has hundreds or even thousands of keywords through which users may find that website. There is no one way to optimize a website in all search engines. But what is by far the best way to get high rankings in ALL search engines is simply interesting and unique content, clean website code, and user-friendly interface. As search engines try to emulate humans behavior giving people what they want will bring much more targeted traffic to your website that optimizing websites for search engine spiders. Remember that you should never create a website for search engines only for people as they are your real clients, not search engines.

Good SEO covers many different subjects and even the best SEO out there don’t know everything. If someone tells you he knows everything about search engines, don’t believe that person. Thats a scam. No one can also guarantee you 1st place in any search engine; no one can tell search engines what to do. But good SEO specialist can make your site more user-friendly attracting more traffic to your website.
