The affiliate duplicate content issue and the same product description on various websites duplicate content issue have one thing in common: many people using the same content provided by one side and used by many webmasters to promote products or services. You should always provide them with samples of promotional materials, but you should insist that affiliates create their own, valuable content. After all you pay them to market your brand in unique way, not to publish the same content on other pages.
  • Educate your affiliates in marketing your products - make sure your affiliates understand the meaning of marketing your brand name or products on the Internet. Allow them to ask questions about ways to market your website, prepare a guide that they may read in order to learn more about possible advertising solutions that will not cause duplicate content issues and will create more unique and valuable content which will promote your website in a positive way.

2. The same product description on different websites is often outcome when e-commerce shops publish manufacturers product descriptions on their websites instead of changing the description. Product manufacturers, publishers and producers always create descriptions for their products and send it to other companies which may use it on their own websites.

There are 809 results for that search query in Google search engine. Thats a lot the same product descriptions on different website, right?

How to solve the same product description duplicate content issue?

  • Create unique content for each product description - simple, and most effective…and hardest to achieve.
  • Add something from yourself to the product description. Even if its small portion of information, try to add something from yourself to limit the possibility of duplicate content issues.

Actually there are small chances that your site will be penalized with duplicate content penalty for using manufacturer product description. Search engines understand the way e-commerce sites operate and they usually do not penalize for that kind of behavior. Nevertheless i suggest creating unique product descriptions or at least adding something from yourself to the product description to limit that possibility, show your clients additional information about product and stand out of the crowd of other e-commerce shops.
