But what SEO is NOT?

SEO is not a magical trick.
It will not get you on top rankings in one day. It will not bring millions of visitors overnight. It will not make you site popular in one day, just because you want to. SEO specialists can not order Google what to do.

SEO is not one-time event.
It takes considerate amount of time to do SEO. It is not one time addition to your site, it is a full, ongoing process that does not have an ending. You may not say: “Well, today my site is on top ranking place for desired keywords, so it will stay like that forever. I may stop doing SEO for my website today.” Do you think that if you stop, your competitors will also stop? I dont think so.
When you set a goal (for example you run a new campaign to promote new product) and achieve it (the product has been successful and company sold desired number of items), you need to set up a new goal (promote a new product). Thats why SEO is ongoing process, which basically does not end.

SEO is not a scam.
SEO is a legitimate way of increasing quality traffic to your website. It is not a fake industry, it is not an industry of people cheating to their clients, telling them fake stories. True SEO is based on hard work, experience, enthusiasm and knowledge.
If you believe folks that claim to do SEO for $8.99 per month and get you site to no.1 on Google you better dream on. That doesnt happen. This IS a scam.

SEO is not for me.
If you have a website with purpose to sell product, services, reach people with your ideas, spread your message or simply find some new friends on the Internet, SEO is for you.
If you have a website you want it to be seen, visited, commented, shared, talked about. And to do so, you need to be on top placements on search engines. Thats the best way to reach people of the same interest as yours.

SEO is not expensive.
Well, it depends. You can buy an old, used car, but you can also buy a new Rolls Royce. Get the idea?

SEO is not about promoting bad quality websites.
SEO is about making websites better, more attractive, more user-friendly (remember that usability and accessibility are part of good SEO tactics) and more search engine friendly. SEO will correct the mistakes on your website, add more quality content to your website, thus attract more new visitors. Of course it’s not all SEO does, but SEO is making user experience on your site better.
SEO IS about making your website better AND promote it.
